Proms to catch up on

While I was listening to the new RING from Bayreuth…

Webern  Passacaglia, Op.1 (11 mins)
Shostakovich  Violin Concerto No.1 (37 mins)
Brahms  Symphony No.4 in E minor(42 mins)

Leila Josefowicz violin
City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra
Sakari Oramo
conductor

Wolfgang Rihm  Verwandlung (19 mins) (UK premiere)
Schumann  Piano Concerto in A minor (30 mins)
Mahler  Symphony No.4 in G major (58 mins)

Hélène Grimaud piano
Inger Dam-Jensen soprano
Bamberg Symphony Orchestra
Jonathan Nott conductor

I heard the tail end of the Shostakovich – after Das Rheingold though I needed a break – and it sounded intriguing.  As for Ms. Grimaud’s Schumann – I am anticipating a lush authoritative performance.
